This customer had purchased a stunning property in a cold climate, then added hot tubs, underfloor heating and other comforts that significantly increased demand on an already limited power supply. They wanted to live comfortably, go fully off‑grid, and have certainty over their future energy costs. Just as importantly, they wanted a solar system that would grow with them as they transitioned to EV vehicles and potentially added commercial charging for visitors.
Containerised off‑grid solar system design and installation
Working closely with Commodore, we designed and installed a containerised off‑grid solar solution that more than tripled the available power to the property. Commodore’s shipping container approach allowed the majority of the system – inverters, batteries and generator – to be built offsite, dramatically reducing on‑site labour and eliminating the guesswork around space and layout.
Premium off‑grid solar components for reliability
Using top‑tier equipment from brands such as Fronius and Victron, the new off‑grid system is self‑sustaining, remotely monitored and built to scale. Extra batteries and solar panels can be added as the customer’s needs evolve. The design supports both single‑phase and three‑phase supply, allowing for two EV charging stations and even the option to commercialise excess energy by offering public charging.
Set‑and‑forget off‑grid energy independence
From the customer’s perspective, the result is “set and forget” energy independence, with the confidence that their lifestyle today – and their plans for tomorrow – are fully supported.
